Private, Guided Yoga & Mat Pilates Sessions

I have been sharing Yoga & Pilates teachings for nearly 25 years. I moved from Vancouver to Victoria in late 2017. The move was very good for me, and it has brought new inspiration and a fresher approach to how I teach now.

My classes are taught in person or online, and I offer private or small, intimate group sessions.

I lead a poetic, articulate and intelligently sequenced Asana practice. With my extensive training and in-depth studies of Hatha, Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Vijnana Yoga styles, mat Pilates, and “Barre,” I instruct classes with keen attention to anatomical alignment, prideful posture and ease from core “preparation” foundation work. From my personal experience, an alignment-based practice not only focuses our busy minds inward but is also the foundation for optimal physical progression.

Yoga helps clear the mind, rewire a more positive mindset, and refine our attention, intention, and actions in our daily lives. I sometimes play beautiful music. I love experimenting with props and walls. Finally, I hope to encourage you to let go of whatever you need when we meet on our mats.

Janet saved me. No, actually… In a short period of time, I had undergone a great deal of loss. Old injuries would reveal themselves one by one, and we would address and heal them, making the injured areas healthier and restored, not just my physical muscles,
but my memory muscles, too, clearing out the cobwebs and bringing new life into the unbreathable places.

Variety (focus on different parts of the body every class)

Really clear instructions for each pose “correctly.”

The best analogies for getting the pose to integrate, for example, visualize… “coconut oil in the joints,” and “tight shorts,” when referring to lower body core awareness. “Slumping”, when really letting go into gravity pull.

Join one of her online classes to experience how she uses them! Most of all, Janet is a positive and loving person. Regularly attending two classes a week with Janet has kept this aging body in the best shape it's ever been in.
